Vintage Guatemalan Huipil. Chajul.

This is a stunning huipil/blouse from Chajul Guatemala. This is a very fine example with more extensive hand embroidery than most. This base fabric is called "aleman" and is prized for its softness and drape. It is a rayon cotton mix and it is like nothing I've ever felt. Super soft and supple yet substantial. A beautiful palette.
