This is a stunning necklace of huge slightly graduated hand shaped pieces of Chiapas amber. The largest bead having a diameter of 41 mm and the smallest is about 23. The clasp is sterling silver hook and the silver beads are sterling silver beads from Taxco. It is an impressive and rare piece. Amber of this size is uncommon and has become much more difficult to get in even the past two years.
Mexican amber is among the rarest and highest qualities of amber in the world. The amber is of a long extinct species of tree and is probably about 25 million years old. This is completely natural untreated amber.
This is an enormous amount of amber and large pieces. Unless new veins of amber are discovered I believe that amber of this size will not be available in the near future. I therefore cannot offer a discount on these.
The total length of the necklace is 40" and it weighs 570g
