Chichicastenango Guatemalan Huipil. Hand-Woven & Hand-Embroidered

Santo Tomás Chichicastenango huipil.

This beautiful post-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in three black cotton base panels. These panels are decorated with supplementary brocade. Wonderful brilliant colors. Gorgeous hues. The center panel is wider and more extensively decorated. The sunburst collar is hand embroidered in cotton over velvet and unique to Chichicastenango huipiles. This beautiful huipil in very good condition.
